Funny that you (didn’t) ask! My coworker asked (really, she did), too, saying, “Is ‘Cheeky’ a British word?”
It made me wonder, “Is this term not understood universally?” Yes, it is indeed a British word. Of course, it’s said in the U.S. and other parts of the globe. But, in terms of the blog, that’s where the expression came from: when an English gent said to us, “Why, YOU ARE a Cheeky Bird, aren’t you?”
And, it stuck.
Cheeky, for all intensive purposes, means smart, probably a little more accurate… smart-mouthed. And, Bird, is a term of endearment for “girl.”
And, there you have it, short and sweet… like me.
And, who’s “me”? Gah! So many questions at once.
I’ll get to that in another post. It is Monday and all.
